Singer Allie X Takes On Paris Couture

See Allie X’s exclusive photo diary, straight from the Parisian catwalks.

In the midst of couture mania of this past Couture Week in Paris, Singer Allie X made her couture week debut. In attendance of the hottest shows ranging from Maison Margiela to Schiaparelli, the Canadian artist whose second studio album Cape God is set to release this spring, Allie X takes V along for an inside look at some of the most buzz-worthy shows that dominated the Parisian catwalks.

Below, discover spring 2020 couture in her own words:

Schiaparelli

“I was fortunate enough to attend Schiaparelli and sit across from Ms. Wintour herself. Loved this very elegant show. This show was full of grace, but this one stands out to me because of its tasteful combination of beads, colors, and shapes.”

Viktor and Rolf

“This was my favorite show I attended. It was like stepping into a sexy druggy prairie girl fantasy.  My favorite looks are tied (check me out in the background of the first one!) “

Guo Pei

This was the final show I attended and a wonderful finale to everything I experienced in Paris this week. Guo Pei is a female (very cute!) designer [whose] brain I would like to take a vacation in. There [were] so much fantasy and attention to detail in this show. The use of color was incredible but it was actually this white piece that floored me.”

Ronald Van Der Kemp

“RVDK is a designer I was made aware of when invited to the show the night before. Known for making couture made of sustainable fabrics, his show was very enjoyable. My fav look was this fuchsia dress with [a] bow accent.”

Givenchy

“I lovvvvvvvved this piece. Omg I want to wear it so bad. Monochromatic 80s nodding everything.”

Iris Van Herpen

“I am a super fan of this woman. To me, she is the most singular voice in the high fashion world. Her work is so distinctive and inventive. I was close to attending this show but didn’t make the final cut (next time hopefully!) This collection incorporated new movement in the shapes. This piece was my personal fav.”

Chanel

“I’m such a sucker for a little black and white sock and shoe cute school girl thing. Some were disappointed with this collection but not me. Fav look.”

Maison Margiela

“I always have to gag over Margiela’s use of color. Such vibrant colors, yet always in a centered, controlled way.”
