60 years of McLaren means it’s time for celebration. International travel and lifestyle brand TUMI is celebrating six decades of the supercar and elite motorsports team with its limited edition TUMI | McLaren 60th Anniversary Collection. The collection is the latest installment of the brand’s Spring 2023 campaign, which features Lando Norris, McLaren Formula 1 driver and returning TUMI crew member.
As one of the most successful teams in motorsports, McLaren has been crowned victorious 20 times in the F1 World Championships, won 183 F1 Grand Prix and even the Indy 500. Goran Ozbolt, chief designer at McLaren Automotive, spoke to the brands collaboration in honor of McLaren’s elite anniversary. “This edition of luxury travel pieces also celebrates our founder Bruce McLaren’s passion for looking to the future, pushing the boundaries, and matching effortless functionality with a modern design language that reflects the ethos of both companies.”
Integrating fashion, technology and lifestyle, this commemorative release offers a range of limited-edition styles in McLaren’s signature papaya colorway. From the Torque Sling to the Velocity Backpack, and even the Aero International Expandable 4 Wheeled Carry-On, there’s a piece for every travel occasion out there.
“As two brands rooted in the creation of world-class, performance luxury products with a true understanding of how technology and functionality coincide, the synergies between TUMI and McLaren are undeniable,” explained Victor Sanz, TUMI’s Creative Director.
Lando Norris’ campaign entitled “Unpack Tomorrow,” follows the young driver in a short-film travel montage, showcasing his attention-grabbing performance and likewise, his TUMI bag’s performance.
Along with the release of the 60th anniversary collection, TUMI will be amplifying its partnership with the elite motorsports team with a global content series at key Grand Prix races, with multiple community engagement tactics, influencer talent, and exclusive giveaway prize.
The new collection was officially released on April 13 and is now available in TUMI stores around the world, as well as on TUMI.com.
