STAUD is Right at Home with Fall 2021 Collection

The new collection is equal parts classic and cozy.

LA-based brand STAUD is known for quirky accessories and sculptural handbags. In recent years, the brand has evolved to include more classic looks, but co-founders Sarah Staudinger and George Augusto have never lost their playful touch. The Fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection exemplifies this attitude, with leather jackets and knit cardigans appearing alongside instances of childlike fun, such as a bag with a tic-tac-toe pattern and a sweater with a color-block rendition of a house. The collection made its digital debut today at New York Fashion Week.

There are lots of prints and patterns – a plaid maxi dress, a rainbow striped sweater dress, and a matching argyle set feel immediately familiar, even as they innovate and play.

The Spring 2021 collection brought a bit of prep to the brand’s signature Cali cool, and the pre-Fall collection continued this theme with nautical motifs and patterns that wouldn’t look out of place on a beach towel. Those collections had us all dreaming up post-pandemic vacation plans, but the Fall 2021 collection seems to be dimming the lights and gathering us around the fire.

We’ve spent more time at home lately than ever before, and this cozy collection embraces all that is wonderful about that. For those times when you do need to venture outside, there are fleece jackets and puffers designed to help you brave the elements.
