Stella Jean x Michael Armitage x ArtColLab Capsule Collection

Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo’s initiative has released a capsule collection of sweaters.

Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo launches their second iteration of their ArtColLab initiative with a capsule collection. The collection is a collaboration between Kenyan/British artist Michael Armitage and Haitian descent Italian designer Stella Jean.

The collection consists of two limited edition sweaters, made of 100% wool, with an eye towards eco-friendly creation. The two sweaters feature largely muted colors that are offset by the occasional pop of bright orange and abstract shapes and designs. A lot of it borrows heavily from Armitage’s work as an artist, which uses East African hues, materials, and techniques.

ArtColLab is Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo’s initiative towards bringing together artists from a variety of disciplines and styles to create limited edition pieces. Last year, they created three women’s shoes. The proceeds from the collection will go to the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute, a non-profit space focussing on the growth of contemporary art in East Africa, a venture between the Fondazione and Armitage.
