This morning, Stella McCartney unveiled her latest short film "Curtains Up" through video channel Nowness. Created by Los Angeles studio Tête-à-Tête, the film celebrates the power of Transcendental Meditation as part of the creative process. For the movie, Stella collaborated with director David Lynch in support of his foundation that uses Transcendental Meditation to help eliminate trauma among at-risk populations.

The nine-minute film, narrated by David Lynch, features actors Ashton Sanders, Tommy Dorfman, and Sasha Lane, as well as musician Børns and artist Petra Cortright. The British designer herself even makes a brief appearance in the film, as she joins the rising stars in their natural states of meditation. Individuals across Los Angeles who have benefited from the practice of Transcendental Meditation are also highlighted in the film.

"Transcendental Meditation is very much a personal sense of space and clarity for me,” said Stella McCartney. “It is one of the most liberating things that I can do to find clarity, mindfulness and well-being. I believe in it so much that collaborating with the David Lynch Foundation in this film was a natural step. I’m a huge admirer of David, he’s an icon and a genius. He has such a dark calmness in everything that he does, his talent is just undeniable and I think that he’s made a true mark in the world of cinema and also in the world of mindfulness."
