The 'Stranger Things' Cast Posed for a Foreboding, New Shoot

Season 2 is coming.

Season 2 is coming.

Something terrifying is haunting Hawkins, Indiana, and television fans could not be more excited to see a ragtag team of adolescent science fiction nerds put darkness in its place on the upcoming, highly-anticipated Oct. 27 arrival of season two of Stranger Things. Few TV shows have had the same cultural impact and wildfire popularity as Netflix's '80s homage, horror series, and because it has been over a year since the debut season dropped and took the world in and out of the disturbing dimension of the Upside Down, the pressure and excitement is on for Stranger Things 2.

Though details of the show have been kept under wraps, the cast has been in the full-swing of a press roll-out including a recent, major three-cover Entertainment Weekly cover story featuring a foreboding, new shoot of the main cast shot by Dan Winters.

In a dimly lit editorial, the cast poses individually and collectively, everyone seemingly baring on a brave face as if they are about to face the demogorgon, or something even darker, yet again. Though season 1 ended with an ambiguous fate for Millie Bobby Brown's telepathic, scene-stealing character Eleven, the actress is back in the new shots and with a curly hairstyle, looking particularly powerful as she peers over her reflection in a solo shot.

The photos are dark and (almost) just enough to hold fans over before the new season's Oct. 27 release date. Check out the pictures below.
