Streetwear Label KROST Combats Climate Change with Latest Collection
The environmentally-aware collection, EDEN, is yet another testament to the brand’s humanitarian artistry.
With philanthropy at the forefront of their brand identity, community-oriented fashion label Krost is known for combining refined streetwear silhouettes and colorful, stand-out designs with a dedicated, charitable mission to make a difference. After making a commitment to sustainability with their previous release, Support Team, and standing up for gun control through a partnership with the March for Our Lives Foundation, Krost just launched its Sophomore Year collection, EDEN, dedicated to raising awareness for climate change. In collaboration with Eden Reforestation Projects, a non-profit organization working to rebuild natural landscapes in developing countries, the humanitarian clothing line pledged to donate a fraction of their proceeds to ERP with the intention of planting 10,000 trees in support of their crucial environmental efforts.
“The goal of this collection is to remind the people of this world of what once was and the dangers we’re now experiencing through climate change and the risk of leaving only a mere shadow of the planet we once knew for those who come after us,” founder Samuel Krost explained. “When you think of ‘Eden,’ you’re reminded of the Garden of Edens, the gardens of God. You’re reminded of the pleasures of paradise and the trees of life; an abundance of vegetation and fertility.”
Inspired by the rich tones of nature’s tranquil beauty, Krost’s premiere “Dry Clean Only” capsule introduces the EDEN collection in all of its earth-friendly glory. Designed by creative director Scott Camaran, the range presents a double-breasted suit jacket with accentuated lapels and mirroring pockets in emerald, hunter green, and black, complete with the Krost logo sewn on to the left arm. In matching accord, cargo pants with utility loops, large side pockets, and cinched openings complete the capsule in the same three colorways, showcasing the brand’s polished, streetwear aesthetic.
As the tumultuous effects of climate change destroy 200,000 acres of rainforest every day, Krost’s collaboration with Eden Reforestation Projects is absolutely necessary, now more than ever.
