After a very long two years, Succession, HBO’s beloved critically acclaimed series, is finally back for season 3. Premiering in October, fans can’t help but be excited about the show’s return, especially coming after production delays due to the pandemic, and a bombshell of a season 2 finale. 

Succession follows the story of the Roy’s, an extremely wealthy American family that are the head of a top media conglomerate. To put it simply, Succession doesn’t skimp out on the drama; the Roy’s are constantly at each other’s throats vying to take over the business from their aging father, not letting anything (or anyone) get in the way of their success. 

So, what’s next? After Favorite Child Kendall Roy betrayed his father in the season 2 finale, we all can’t help but wonder what’s to come. According to the season’s synopsis, we’re in for nothing less but pure entertainment. 

“Ambushed by his rebellious son Kendall at the end of Season 2, Logan Roy begins Season 3 in a perilous position,” reads the official synopsis. “Scrambling to secure familial, political, and financial alliances, tensions rise as a bitter corporate battle threatens to turn into a family civil war.”

The cast were seen the past year shooting throughout New York, giving us a sneak peek into what extravagant locations they’d be frequenting including The Plaza Hotel and the Hamptons. But of course, in that classic Roy-flare, they also flew to Italy to film part of the season. 

It’s a bit of an understatement to say that Succession season 3 will have us sitting at the edge of our seats, as we’ve been waiting so long to see what’s next. Whether we see the Roy’s reflected in our own family, or just watch to get a glimpse into the lives of the fictional elite, Succession will be a must-watch this fall.
