While this past year has been rough, the 2021 Super Bowl will still take place and that means the halftime show is right around the corner. This year Canadian artist The Weeknd will perform on Super Bowl Sunday, February 7, 2021.
Following last years memorable performances by Shakira and Jennifer Lopez, the winner of nine Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, and three Grammy Awards will perform hits like “Blinding Lights” on one of the biggest stages in America.
“After a year that’s largely been void of live music, we can’t wait to watch The Weeknd transform the world’s biggest stage with his limitless talent and creativity, delivering what will most certainly be an unforgettable performance that will be remembered for years to come,” said the Senior Vice President of Pepsico Adam Harter in a statement.
Some of The Weeknd’s other hits include “Starboy,” “Can’t Feel My Face,” and “Wicked Games,” including collaborations with artists like Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé. Past halftime shows have had several guest performers, so keep an eye out on further announcements leading up to event.
Other past performers include Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, The Who, and many other legendary performers.
Super Bowl 55 will take place on Sunday, February 7, 2021 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. Super Bowl 55 will be televised by CBS and live streamed on the CBS All Access app.
