Model, mother, and most recent V154 covergirl, Adut Akech, walked this year’s Met Gala blue carpet in a two-piece couture look, with a sculptural collar alone racking in 25,550 Swarovski Crystals. V alum, Alex Consani, flaunted a Swan White inspired piece, the tailoring of her jacket seamlessly integrated with 18,400 Swarovski Crystals, and model Sora Choi, outfitted in a custom blue ensemble, donned a coat embellished with 50,000 stones including Swarovski Crystal pearls and beads.

However, it was Swarovski Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, who took the cake, strutting in with a green three-piece pantsuit and an organza feather pattern embellished with over 200,000 faceted crystals and Swarovski Crystal pearls. V just threw a lot of numbers at you, we know. But when the couture is just so…couture, the artistry begs acknowledgement.

For the 2025 Met Gala, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” Swarovski celebrated 130 years of zirconia-studded joy with four one-of-a-kind looks envisioned by Engelbert. “This year my approach was to celebrate Swarovski’s House emblem, the Swan, and imagine it coupled with dandy style codes,” she tells V. “Each garment was a canvas to express colorful, artistic representations of swan feathers in combination with crystal and world class tailoring. The goal was to bring the same level of artistry and creativity to each look that we bring to our jewelry and to capture the beauty and extravagance of this important moment in fashion pop culture.”

Blending Swarovski’s House emblem, the Swarovski Swan, with this year’s dandified themes, the resulting pieces from Engelbert balanced House tradition with more contemporary codes representative of the Swan silhouette. House colors of green, pink, white, and blue were embellished with hundreds of thousands of precision-cut Swarovski crystals overlaid with intricate crystal jewels and embroidered feather details. The Swarovski Quadruplets, going full swan, slipped on custom Manolo Blahnik silk heels featuring hand-embroidered crystal feathers, while yet-to-be-released jewelry pieces from the Swarovski Vienna collection lent a glitzy splash of gilded pop.
