Sza Drops 7 Unreleased Songs for Deluxe Version of “Crtl”

As the album celebrates its 5th anniversary, the singer gives fans a deeper look into the album that started it all.

After debuting at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in 2017, Crtl hasn’t left the chart. Songs like “Love Galore”, “Drew Berrymore” and “The Weekend” continue to hold the same appeal. To celebrate the success of the album, SZA brings listeners back to where it all began.

Her debut album, Crtl, celebrated its 5 year anniversary on June 9. In honor of the milestone, SZA dropped a deluxe version to the album. Complete with 7 unreleased songs, the deluxe album is exactly what fans have been wanting since they first heard the original.

“2AM”, “Miles”, “Percolator”, “Tread Carefully”, “Awkward”, “Jodie” and “Love Galore (Alt Version)” are the new tracks. In a tweet, SZA announced that all of the songs were “made in 2014-2016 /17… not new lol to be absolutely clear.”

Upon its release Ctrl earned several nominations at the 2018 Grammy Awards. The album was up for Best Urban Contemporary Album, while “The Weekend” received a nomination for Best R&B Performance. “Supermodel” was in the running for  Best R&B Song, and “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott made the Best Rap/Sung Performance category.

The deluxe tracks are the first collection of songs SZA has released since her 2021 single “I Hate U.” She dropped “Good Days” and “Hit Different” back in 2020, but since then the artist has only featured on songs or released soundtrack work. Her feature on Doja Cat’s “Kiss Me More” earned rave reviews, and won the artist her first Grammy.
