TAILORED CONTRASTS AND SHEER FLUIDITY MAKE WAVES AT THE BOSS MIAMI FASHION SHOW

Superstars Naomi Campbell, Pamela Anderson and Law Roach walked the water-inspired runway on Wednesday

Turning to the past to step boldly into the future was just one of the underlying themes in an overall modern reinvention of traditional tailoring as presented at the BOSS fashion show in Miami. The new Spring/Summer 2023 collection was unveiled before a group of more than 500 guests, followed by an afterparty at the Herald Plaza.

The show was centered around the notion of transparency – even the overall set design had a modern, aquatic theme to give the impression that the entire venue was surrounded by walls of water. Models were made to look as if they were actually walking on water, drawing inspiration from the beach-side city where the show was held. Beyond this oceanic influence, the Spring/Summer BOSS collection explored the idea of progress and innovation; the overall assortment presented a sleek and sophisticated idea of what it means to become and embrace the spirit of self-determined individuality in an ever-changing world.

The brand’s signature neutral color palette of white, black and beige anchored the collection, as warm, power day hues reflected Miami’s Art-Deco architecture. The silhouettes were classic BOSS, showcasing stronghold pillars of tailoring with their shirting, trench coats, strapless dresses, vests, and pants. But amongst the staple silhouettes, a reinvigoration came with the use of lightweight, crinkled fabrics including silks and nylons that lightened up the collection, as stripes and pinstripes further established the new directions with fresh hues. The result? A range of structured yet effortlessly cool pieces born from BOSS classics.

“The BOSS Spring/Summer 2023 collection is a fluid revisitation of the brand’s heritage tailoring while offering a ‘see now, buy now’ approach to key pieces,” said Marco Falcioni, SVP of Creative Direction at HUGO BOSS. “One of the underlying motifs that inspired the collection is the exquisite tension that lies between contrasting elements, such as solid and fluid states; land and sea; opaque and transparent; past and present. This powerful juxtaposition serves as the cornerstone of a new exploration in prints, tones, and textures, opening the door to a world that invites a creative, visual dialogue. It is a sartorial reflection in looking back to move boldly forward into the future and embody the spirit of a true BOSS.”

In classic BOSS fashion, the show was filled with A-listers, both on the runway and off. While Naomi Campbell, Pamela Anderson, Law Roach, DJ Khaled, Alica Schmidt, Yusra Mardini, Precious Lee, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Ezra Frech, and Caleb Williams walked in the liquid-inspired show, front-row attendees featured Maluma, Demi Lovato, Charles Melton, Camila Morrone, and Suki Waterhouse. The brand also focused on social creators such as Lele Pons, Joey Graceffa and Alix Earle as they live-streamed their show across various digital platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and LinkedIn, as well as on hugoboss.com, where selected items were made available for immediate purchase.

The latest collection is now available online at boss.com and in-store at BOSS retail points around the globe.
