Take A Look At MM6 Maison Margiela’s New Avant-Première AW22 Collection

Everything from utilitarian coats to sleek leather pants.

Think of your favorite winter essentials, but elevated. For their AW22 Avant-Première capsule, MM6 Maison Margiela juxtaposes casual wear with business wear for a luxurious feel. Perfect if you’re looking for your next wardrobe go-to, their AW22 collection is nothing but chic and continues what the fashion house is known for: androgynous and aesthetically-pleasing designs.

The collection, filled with oversized and relaxed silhouettes, brings masculine and feminine into one. Many of its blazers and coats remind you of a standard men’s suitlarge shoulder pads and straight structure—all while being practical. These masculine details continue on the striped button ups, which were paired with ruffled skirts and baggy knit sweaters. Acid-wash denim also manages to make a comeback without taking away the collection’s minimalist vibe. As another contrast, Avant-Première does a unique play on the sweater vest by including a two-way zipper for a customizable fit.

Although the clothing’s color palette is filled with neutrals, the accessories are filled with pops of color. There are mixes of bright greens and blues, which compliment the brown and beige tones of leather jackets and pants. However, one of the standout features are the thick, grey wool boots. Going up to the calf, these boots are a unique take on the current chunky-sole boot trend, except prioritizing warmth and comfort. The collection’s other boot styles range from your standard leather boot to a fully knit, colorblock boot. Similar in aesthetic are the crossbody hobo bags that pair well with the cream color knit gloves, extra-large dog tag and choker necklaces.
