The Met Gala returned to uptown Manhattan in a whirlwind of glittering glam, Old Hollywood and this year, American-inspired fashion. Fashion’s biggest night always produces a lineup of stellar looks, and this year was not one to disappoint. With the theme being, In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, attendees came dressed in their best garb and ready to step-out after the event was delayed due to the pandemic. Lucky for you, we’ve listed some of our favorite looks below.


Yara Shahidi 

Paying a homage to Josephine Baker, Yara Shahidi wears a beautifully detailed custom Dior Couture crystal-embroidered gown designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Paired with a gold tulle cloak and elbow-length gloves, Yara is a sight to be seen. 


Simone Biles

Wearing AREA Couture x Athleta, Olympic Gold Medalist Simone Biles stunned in a sparkling custom gown. Athleta celebrated the event tonight by donating $50,000 to The Power of She Fund to empower women and girls. 


Kaia Gerber

Drawing inspiration from Old Hollywood, Kaia Gerber’s Oscar de la Renta gown recreates Bianca Jagger’s 1981 Met Gala look.


Michaela Coel

Another sparkly sight, Michaela Coel wore a royal blue off-the-shoulder glittering body suit, suited from top to shoes. Designed by Balenciaga, we couldn’t take our eyes off of her.


Kendall Jenner

Dripping in jewels and custom Givenchy, Kendall Jenner found inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s look in My Fair Lady. 


Billie Eilish

Billie Eilish custom tulle Oscar de la Renta corset gown is full-glam and fully inspired by Old Hollywood. The blush dress and short Marilyn Monroe-esque bob has her looking like a dream. 


Quannah Chasinghorse

Activist and Indigenous model Quannah Chasinghorse stole the show last night wearing a gold DUNDAS X REVOLVE gown paired with authentic Navajo turquoise jewelry. 



Stepping out in power and allure, Iman wears an unforgettable Dolce and Gabbana gown designed by Harris Reed. Haloed in gold leaf, the handmade crinoline gown leaves us speechless.


Gemma Chan

Gemma Chan wore custom Prabal Gurung and found inspiration from Anna May Wong, the first Chinese-American film star of Hollywood’s golden era.


Anok Yai

Shining in a celestial Oscar de la Renta look, Anok Yai’s feathers and crystals of her gown combine to create a look out-of-this world. 


Nikkie de Jager

Nikkie de Jager, otherwise known as NikkieTutorials, paid homage to Marsha P. Johnson, the trans icon at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots. Styled by Marja Bennenbroek, Nikkie’s Edwin Oudshoorn gown is covered in 18k gold decals and silk flowers.


Jennifer Hudson

Jennifer Hudson’s elegant AZ Factory gown in a deep striking red encapsulates the glamour and artistry of the Met Gala, the gown boasted a long train sprawling shawl.
