If you weren’t already in the vacation mood, luxury fashion label Helmut Lang has partnered with Canadian brand Saintwoods for a Resort 2020 capsule collection. A travel-inspired wardrobe, this collab entitled, “See You Soon,” lets the clothes do the traveling at a time when the rest of us can’t.

Drawing on elements from traveling through the air, the land, and the sea,  the collection features light and airy illustrations and outdoorsy shades of blue, pink, and tan to drive the theme home. “See You Soon” hopes to bring viewers back to a traveling mindset with its transportation graphics, including planes, sailboats, and cabs printed on pieces in the collection.

The collection also inspires us to travel to another point in time, as the taxi cab graphic is a nod to Helmut Lang’s 1998 taxi top, when the fashion brand became the first ever to advertise on taxis.

In this collaboration, Helmut Lang explores its own interpretation on Saintwoods’ relaxed yet universal style, expressing this feeling through Lang’s classic t-shirt, hoodie, and sweatpant styles. Both brands express a sort of minimalist lifestyle that still values creativity and appeals to youth culture, their collaboration an easy mesh of the minds.    

The campaign for this Resort collection features an array of talents that represent the essence of both brands, including Leo and son Otis Fitzpatrick, Bouba Savage, Coi Leray, Ian Isiah, etc. The campaign is as lighthearted as the collection, set in what seems to be a travel advisory office, with scenic landscapes as temporary backgrounds.

Complete with props and instantly recognizable elements of traveling, this campaign reminds us both of the fun of traveling with friends and family as well as the hassles and frustrations of traveling with friends and family. Still, we’re hoping to rock this collection on our next vacation, whenever that may be.
