We all remember that iconic Billie cover for V121 shot by Alex White and lensed by Inez and Vinhood. Today, White took it a step further to explain the inspiration and thought processes behind each of the looks captured by her own polaroids to make this “Throwback Thursday” a little bit brighter.

“Billie’s style is unique to her.  She is an original and brings her own attitude to this Burberry look. Ricardo Tisci’s clothes have a similar attitude, so the two paired well together,” said White.

For this green ensemble, Alex explained, “I wanted something new and artisanal for Billie to wear so when I found this plastic pantsuit from London by Craig Green, I thought it was perfect. Billie loves glasses, and we had some special custom pieces made for her.”

For the final look, White recalls, “Inez had this idea for a cat mask which Stephen Jones interpreted perfectly. With the Versace robe, there was something magical and mysterious happening.”
