Telfar Clemens, the designer behind rising brand TELFAR, is among the best and brightest of fashion's up-and-coming creatives. And last night, he got the recognition he deserves as he was crowned the winner of the 2017 CFDA/Vogue fashion fund prize.

On Monday, Nov. 6, at the annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runway show, Telfar won the grand prize of $400,000, which will help expand his emerging brand following months of hard work,  The designer was included in the 2017 class of ten finalists, made up of emerging names in fashion including the likes of Vaquiera and Sandy Liang. Telfar took home the coveted prize for his universal looks meant to blur the line of gender, and his unique collaborations, teaming up with unexpected brands like White Castle. With their equally as subversive styles, Chromat's Becca McCharen-Tran and Ahlem Manai-Platt's Ahlem won the runner-up prizes and were each awarded $150,000.

Even though Telfar was formed in 2005, it's safe to say it's just the beginning for the savvy streetwear designer.
