Tennis Prep Meets ’90s Chicano Style
The American tennis brand, K-Swiss, collaborated with WILLY CHAVARRIA for SS20.
Through motifs intermixing tennis prep and ’90s Chicano rave culture, K-Swiss recently launched a collaboration with New York menswear label, WILLY CHAVARRIA. The WILLY CHAVARRIA x K-Swiss capsule collection pays homage to the Chicano style, incorporating elongated silhouettes and vibrant colors inspired by this ’90s trend. The oversized, baggy aesthetic of these fleece jerseys – along with the inclusion of foam padding and metal spikes to the reimagined design of K-Swiss’ Classic 2000 sneaker – emphasize the style of this underrated subculture.
Shades of Cali-neon are another focal point of this collaboration between K-Swiss and WILLY CHAVARRIA, elevating this cohesive vision of 90’s California Chicano Tennis Prep.
The SS20 collaboration it’s available on both company’s websites and select retail locations, including Dover Street Market Ginza, LN-CC, Luisaviaroma, and Machus.
