Teva Taps Tegan and Sara for LGBTQ+ Pride Sandal

With Pride around the corner, Teva is celebrating LGBTQ+ spirit with the help of Tegan and Sara and a rainbow flatform shoe.

Pride is around the corner and people are getting excited to celebrate again. This year marks the 50th year since the Stonewall riots, an extra special milestone for queer people everywhere. If you plan on taking the streets this Pride season, you can now do so from a higher vantage point thanks to Teva.

You may know Teva as the originator of the sports sandal, but they have much more to offer. For instance, this Pride, Teva has partnered with the Tegan and Sara Foundation. The queer musicians and the footwear giant have come together to join altruistic forces and create a shoe that honors the LGBTQ+ community.

Their collaboration doesn’t beat around the bush. The shoe is a flatform: traditional Teva straps atop but 6 layers of color bolt the wearer roughly 2.5 inches higher. Anyone strapped into these shoes are literally walking on stripes of rainbow, a fitting motif for the celebration. The shoes do more than just reinforce aesthetics – every pair sold leads to a $15 donation to the Tegan and Sara foundation.

What you wear can now shout Pride, literally from head to toe. The shoes are unisex and available at Teva and Nordstrom. Take a look at them below.
