The Attico Popped In To NYC To Say Ciao

The Italian street-wear trendsetter is bringing their style to New York City.

The Attico, the luxury streetwear brand from the creative minds of Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, has set up its first brick-and-mortar store in North America.

The pop-up salon marks a tremendous milestone for the young brand and hints at a future permanent physical store expansion in the US.

Although a pop-up, for now, the salon space houses a selection of The Attico’s latest Fall-Winter 2022 shoes and bags, which customers may try on and order for delivery to their address.

The pop-up space, located on Wooster Street in New York’s Soho neighborhood, was conceptualized and designed by Milan-based architectural practice Studioboom. Who has regularly worked with The Attico duo.

Studioboom’s work comprises stainless steel spiral staircases as display centerpieces set in a softly carpeted, powder blue space to illustrate cloud-filled skies.

The stairs represent a symbol of moving upwards through the clouds toward a higher, celestial dimension of The Attico, close to the moon and stars.

The stairs might also hint at going upwards toward the attico, which means ‘the penthouse’ in Italian. Saying the key to living a penthouse life is grabbing The Attico clothing on your way up.

Regardless of if you interpret it in the editorial way or the socialite way, the space is still stunning.

When the stairs are stocked with the shoes, bags, and clothes from the brand, they stick out. As The Attico’s go-to look is opulence, color, and grandeur, it provides a stark contrast to the greyness and toned-down aesthetic of the spiral staircase.

Plus, with nothing on the wall but grey-toned curtains from the ceiling to the floor, the clothes really become the only thing your eyes can focus on.

Scanning the space, your eyes lock on zebra print bags, feathery clutches, and green glitter heals that command your attention against the backdrops and displays previously described.

With the success of their first US pop-up under their glamourous belts, time will tell whether the pop-up becomes permanent.
