The Canada Goose x Salehe Bembury x NBA Collection is Almost Here

After a month of Instagram teases, the The Canada Goose x NBA Capsule Collection designed by Salehe Bembury for the 2022 All-Star game is here.

Canada Goose has finally unveiled their partnership with designer Salehe Bembury and the NBA, to celebrate the league’s 75th anniversary and the upcoming All-Star weekend. The limited-edition capsule collection is a nod to the NBA styles of the 90s, when star players like Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman exuded boldness and fearlessness both on and off the court.

“The NBA significantly influenced my interest in design,” says Bembury, who has made a name for himself in the footwear and streetwear spaces with partnerships across brands like Crocs, Yeezy, and New Balance. “Growing up watching games with my dad, and loving everything about 90’s basketball culture, from the ’94 Knicks to Space Jam and The Fresh Prince,” Bembury says regarding his design inspirations.

The four-piece collection features several of Canada Goose’s signature pieces: the Expedition Parka, the Concord Fleece, the Signal Vest, and the Tundra Bib. Each piece features Bembury’s traditional thumbprint motif, co-branded with a Canada Goose x Salehe Bembury tonal disc and label, as well as the iconic NBA logo.

The unisex collection, the second between Canada Goose and the NBA, is designed to be layered, mixed, and matched. Two pieces from the collection, the Expedition Parka and the Concord Fleece, will be given to all 2022 All-Star players at the big game in Cleveland on Feb. 20.

“As the NBA celebrates its 75th Anniversary Season, our latest collaboration with Canada Goose serves an opportunity for our fans to uniquely express their connection to our game,” says Lisa Piken Koper, the Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the NBA.

The collaboration is strengthened by Canada Goose’s “Play in the Open” campaign, a spin on their “Live in the Open” ethos. Directed by stop-motion director Foster Huntington, the campaign features a figure of Bembury himself exploring the outdoors, clad in pieces from the collection.
