In Chanel’s latest Métiers d’Art collection, appreciation for the atelier’s dedication to the craft is taken to the next level through intricate textiles and elaborate pleating. Brand ambassadors Tilda Swinton, Liu Wen, and Lulu Tenny are dressed in garments inspired by both Chanel’s birthplace of France and the most recent location of the Métiers d’Art runway show — Hangzhou, China.

The campaign was shot in the same setting of Lake Xihu where the runway show took place. Mikael Jansson shot the campaign in the misty light, among the surrounding trees and vast views of the lake.

An opulent glamor overpowers the collection, with brooches and long, draping necklaces adding to the more simple tweed and satin blouses. The journey from Paris to China is subtly hinted at through a traveling motif, as classic Chanel cardigans are elevated with prints taken from Coromandel screens. In a more literal sense, the line also includes quilted leather travel bags and a patent leather vanity case.

Métiers d’Art first began in 2001 when the late Karl Lagerfeld was at the helm of Chanel. Lagerfeld was inspired to base a collection on the artisan workshops procured by Chanel over the years in order to tribute Chanel’s extensive history.

The Chanel 2024/25 Métiers d’art collection is an ode to the poetic nature of travel and the international impact of Chanel in the fashion world. This installment is now available in Chanel boutiques worldwide.
