The Fall-Approved Activewear You Need

Cold weather staples that are perfect to wear inside and outside the gym.

Now that it is getting cooler, it is time to bust out your favorite oversized sweatshirt and black leggings Although I don’t consider myself a very athletic person, I do enjoy the versatility of leggings. I can either wear them to the gym (when I do persuade myself to go), or with an oversized blazer if I want to look somewhat presentable, but not trying too hard. Since I am the kind of person who prefers to buy one of each item, my activewear tends to lose its wear rather quickly. Despite my lack of desire to workout 5x a week, I still want a good legging or sweatpant that will last for years. Lucky for you, I’ve gathered some of the best activewear that will not only last long, but will also make you look extra chic.

Here are six cold weather-appropriate activewear to add to your closet ASAP.

Free People Hit the Slopes Fleece Jacket

Worn by the likes of Kaia Gerber and Hailey Bieber, this fleece jacket by Free People is the must-have staple you need. It is cute as a cover up prior to working out, or to wear for a quick last-minute grocery run. Not only is the jacket warm, fuzzy and comfy, it features nylon patches, ecstatic cuffs and a slouchy silhouette for a “model off-duty” look.

Aritzia Cheeky Hi-Rise Legging

Aritzia shopping hauls have consumed my TikTok feed, but I’m not complaining. Like many people on the platform, I’ve developed a deep love for the brand’s minimalistic style and quality basics, such as these hi-rise leggings. Perfect for anyone who doesn’t want to worry about those pesky sweat stains, the fabric of the leggings is said to be sweat-wicking and super buttery-soft for a comfortable fit. They also come in 18 colors, and have a curved waistband to emphasize the hips and bum.

Anine Bing Roxie Top

Anine Bing is beloved for their outerwear, but they have slowly branched out to sportswear. The Roxie Top is a long-sleeve crewneck that works with your body’s movement, and wicks away moisture. We love that it is cropped in length, and includes the “Anine Bing Sport” logo at the front for an extra sporty and chic vibe inside and outside the gym.

Lululemon Energy Bra Medium Support

We all know that Lululemon is one of the best brands for activewear, especially their sports bras. Their Energy Bra was voted “most likely to be worn multiple times a week” because of its soft, cool material and versatility. No matter the workout, this bra has enough support for medium-impact training. Other benefits include its breathable material, four-way stretch and coverage.

Nike Women’s Fleece Pants

You cannot go without a good pair of sweatpants for the fall. A Nike best seller, these fleece pants are made to be loose fitting for extra warmth and comfort. And whether you’re into neutrals or bright colors, these pants are available in your classic grey, beige, black and even a turquoise blue. Overall, they’re great for layering over leggings, lounging on the couch, and pairing with a white crop tank and blazer if you’re into athleisure wear.

Alo Yoga Accolade Hoodie

If you’re going to invest in a nice pair of sweats, then you’re going to need a matching hoodie. Alo Yoga is a brand that has also become popular on social media, thanks to the Hadid sisters. Their Accolade Hoodie is described as a “wear-right-now, “love-forever’’ kind of hoodie because the silhouette/fabric is super flattering, luxe and durable. Even though it is quite the investment, you will never have to worry about replacing it.
