Originally appearing in Prada’s Fall/Winter 1998 collection, the Toblach was unveiled alongside the iconic America’s Cup Sneaker and became a brand staple and part of fashion history as the first Linea Rossa shoe to appear on the runway.

The shoe’s name pays homage to the town of Dobbiaco (Toblach in German) in the Trentino-Alto Adige region of Northern Italy as it perfectly balances the high performance sportswear and timeless fashion defined in the Italian Alps.

Prada became one of the first luxury brands to design high-performance sports footwear with the Toblach, combining practicality with refinement. The shoes rubber sole, engineered for technical function without the compromise of losing formal structure, enables the Toblach to embody both fashion sensibility and function.

Returning for Prada’s Fall/Winter 2025 footwear collection, the Toblach is reinterpreted for a fresh new look. Produced in smooth calf leather, the Toblach is now offered as a high-top ankle boot, a lace-up, and a moccasin loafer.

The Toblach serves as the perfect contender for Prada’s initiative to revisit past looks in order to project them forward, celebrating the brands ability to turn tradition into innovation and further the vision of contemporary fashion.
