Moncler was founded in 1952 by René Ramillon and Andrè Vincent in a village near Grenoble that would give the label its name. Now based in Milan, Italy the brand has made a worldwide name for itself through luxury outerwear. While Moncler makes loads of other garments including footwear, apparel, and accessories, New Yorkers can’t get enough of the brand’s now iconic puffers and vests.

For their latest collection, Moncler teams up with New York-native Alicia Keys to pay homage to New York’s unmatched energy and the city’s ambitious tenants. “Moncler and I go way back to when I was a little kid during those New York winters. A Moncler was something you could see, but not quite reach yet. That high vision of excellence to strive for. This collection is like fulfilling that childhood wish on an epic scale,” says Alicia Keys.

The designs embody New York City’s unmatched swagger and unique hustler spirit through silhouettes that are reminiscent of the 90s and color-ways that demand attention. Drawing inspiration from Alicia’s own love for both masculine and feminine aesthetics, this collection is perfect for the gender-neutral dresser.

The Moncler x Alicia Keys collection  rests at the “intersection of hard work and big dreams.” As Alicia soulfully sings in her New York City anthem, “Empire State of Mind,” New York is a place full of big aspirations and little quit. Greens, reds, and purples permeate the bucket hats, oversized trackwear, and tees. Meanwhile, sneakers, hoodies, and of course a jacket round out the city-situated collection. Unveiled during London Fashion Week at Moncler’s The Art of Genius event, Alicia shared the stage with London’s Little Simz and Cleo Sol during a community-bridging live performance.

The campaign is just as reflective of New York City’s go-getter spirit as the collection. The first campaign, shot by Ibrahem Hasan, features real New York City creatives. Spotlighting a poet, a singer-songwriter, a musician, and an actress, Alicia’s belief that New York’s greatest gift to the world is its creative youth couldn’t be more true in this campaign. The second, shot by Laura Jane Coulson, captures “Alicia Keys the designer” in all her glory.
