The New It Girl Is A Fun, Dancing Trailblazer In GANNI Fall/Winter 22

Copenhagen is the new capital of heroines.

GANNI RTW will always be essential to the chic Scandinavian girl. The Copenhagen-based label presents a silhouette rooted in the tradition of solid colors, chunkiness, and comfortability. For Fall 2022, ferocious femininity is exposed in “LOVE FOREVER EVER,” where confidence and optimism seep through black jacquard and magenta sequins. Similar to F/W 21, the influence of the ’90s is a long, winding thread through each look in the collection, embroidered cowboy boots contrasting against GANNI’s version of the “power suit.”

Filmed at VEGA in Copenhagen, the collection features a balance between sensuality and fragility, forming a performance troupe to express the evolution of the GANNI girl. Pillow-shaped bags to match waist-coat-like jackets. Snake-skin and meadow flowers are constructed to pattern dresses and skirts.

Inspired by the experience of listening to Björk and P.J. Harvey as a teen in the 90s, Ditte Reffstrup has found a way to translate an era of cool that has found itself attempted and failed numerous times before. In the video/performance, the rising star of Copenhagen, Jada, set the stage, showing that LOVE FOREVER EVER is a show of raw performance that Reffstrup sought to produce “high energy, channeling hope, and optimism as the world opens up again and greeting it with confidence.”
