20th Century Studios and Marvel Entertainment released an updated trailer for The New Mutants earlier this week, and while it still promises a darkness that comes with most superhero films, there’s an air of fun charisma. Directed by Josh Boone, the cast consists of actors whose names have been buzzwords lately, including Anya Taylor-Joy, who just starred in Autumn de Wilde’s Emma, Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones, Stranger Things’ Charlie Heaton, and Brazilian sensation Alice Braga. 

In the film’s official synopsis, the plot centers around “an isolated hospital where a group of young mutants is being held for psychiatric monitoring. When strange occurrences begin to take place, both their new mutant abilities and their friendships will be tested as they battle to try and make it out alive.”
