The Newlyweds Are Front Row: Kenya Kinski-Jones Peltz and Will Peltz At Fashion Week

Fresh off their wedding, Kenya and Will brought newlywed bliss to New York Fashion Week

There’s a post-wedding glow, a newlywed kind of magic you might assume would fade once the honeymoon ends. But one look at Kenya Kinski-Jones Peltz and Will Peltz suggests otherwise. Some things, it seems, only get better with time.

The couple first met in 2011 on a film set in Santa Monica. You might imagine there was a classic Hollywood meet-cute, with two leading stars crossing paths between takes, in reality, their introduction was more serendipitous: Will was working on the project, while Kenya was simply there to visit her mother.

What felt like kismet in the moment had a curious prelude. Their fathers, Quincy Jones and Nelson Peltz, had been friends for 40 years, a connection the couple would only discover only after they’d met.

Three months after tying the knot in Mount Kisco, New York, the newlyweds were back in the city, this time for New York Fashion Week. With wedding rings on their fingers and eyes for little beyond each other (and the runway), Kenya and Will spoke to V about their newlywed bliss and their time at Milan, New York and Paris Fashion Week.

V: Now that you’ve had time to take it all in, what’s the moment from your wedding that you keep coming back to—and what has felt most special about being newly married?

KENYA KINSKI-JONES PELTZ:  For me, looking into his eyes throughout the ceremony will always be the moment. Will and I have grown up together in so many ways, so getting married felt like the most meaningful celebration of all we’ve shared, but also the beginning of something new.

WILL PELTZ: As Kenya was walking down the aisle, we locked eyes everyone and everything just faded away and it felt like it was just the two of us. That’s the moment for me. I’ll never forget it. And I love calling her my wife now.

V: What’s the most chaotic part of getting ready together on a fashion show day, and who’s usually running late?

KKJP: The last 15 minutes are always chaos. Everything is totally fine and then suddenly we’re late.

V: What’s something you’ve only learned about each other from going to the shows together?

KKJP: Will has always been very into fashion and excited by it. He is full of surprises when it comes to his own style and what he gravitates to at a show as well. I love hearing his takes, he has great ones.

WP: I’ve learned that Kenya is much calmer than I am when we’re running late to a show.

V:  Kenya, you’re back in the saddle. What did you miss most about riding, and what made now the right time to return?

KKJP:  I grew up riding, so it was always such a big part of my life. There’s nothing that compares to being on a horse for me, being at the barn doing anything at all, and I missed the horsemanship too. Just being around horses again has been so comforting and joyful. I read a quote recently that said something like “It’s never too late to return back to what you loved as a child.” That resonated.

V: Will, you’re working on some film projects. What does Kenya say when you run lines or ideas past her?

WP: She’s very honest with me, which is why I always ask her. If she doesn’t believe something, I know immediately. I’m just very lucky to have such a supportive and amazing wife.

V: Of all the moments this fashion week season, from New York to Milan to Paris, which one do you think you’ll remember the longest, and why?

KKJP: New York was especially fun because Will and I got to do so much of it together. We both loved Michael Kors. Michael has a way of making things feel glamorous but still really easy and wearable, and the show always has great New York energy.

Simkhai was beautiful, and being at Carolina Herrera for the 45th anniversary felt special. I loved the expression of who the Carolina Herrera woman is throughout the show. We also had a great time with Chanel and Marc Jacobs one of the nights.

Montblanc was another favorite event for both of us. We have memories of Montblanc pens at our parents’ desks growing up, so we have a sentimental and nostalgic association with the brand as well. It signifies such elegance and legacy.

In Milan, the Ferragamo show felt polished but also cool and with a twist like the latex trench coats or the double belts. You could feel the excitement and admiration in the room. Getting to experience it with my sister made it even more special.

And then Paris with Stella McCartney was the last show I attended. I’ve always loved Stella. She’s remained committed to her values around animals and sustainability. That’s something that I truly admire, so being there felt very special.

WP: New York was probably my favorite because we got to do it together. Michael Kors was such a great show, the clothes feel confident and cool without looking like they’re trying too hard, and Michael himself has such an amazing energy. And I really loved Montblanc. I’m into things that are beautifully made and that you keep for a long time, so I really connect with that side of the brand. But honestly, the best part was getting to experience all of it with Kenya and have fun together in NYC as we currently split time between Los Angeles and New York.
