The Official Trailer for Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘driving home 2 u’ Film is Here

Olivia Rodrigo fans will get an inside look into the makings of her chart-topping debut album on March 25 on Disney+.

Before she kicks off her first-ever world tour next month, Olivia Rodrigo is giving fans an inside look into the making of her hit debut album, Sour. The driving home 2 u film, available on Disney+ on March 25, is part-concert and part-documentary.

The trailer, which is full of behind the scenes footage of Rodrigo as she created the album that earned her seven Grammy nominations and catapulted her to worldwide fame, kicks off with something much more simple: a road trip. It follows Rodrigo as she made the journey from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City, where she filmed her Disney+ series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and began the process of creating Sour.

The film, which was directed by Stacey Lee, will give fans a glimpse into Rodrigo’s headspace as she created emotionally-charged songs like Drivers License and Good 4 U. “There’s nothing that connects people and nothing that’s a truer window into human emotion than music,” Rodrigo said in the trailer. “I just wanted to tell people what was going on in the back of my head in a way that was proud and not ashamed.” (The album at large was reportedly and famously inspired by Rodrigo’s breakup with castmate Joshua Bassett.)

Viewers will get an even deeper look into the creative process in scenes with Sour’s producer, Dan Nigro, as well as reflections from Rodrigo as Sour blew up around the world and eventually earned seven Grammy nominations, including album of the year and song of the year with Drivers License.
