Anticipation builds as the official website of Ghibli Park offers more insight to the iconic landmark, opening in late 2022
Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation film studio headquartered in Tokyo, unveiled the official website for its newest project, Ghibli Park. Inspired by the anime companies architecture, narratives, and artistry, the park has no big attraction or rides, instead encouraging visitors to “Take a stroll, feel the wind, and discover the wonders.”
The park is currently undergoing construction on and within the green grounds of Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park (Moricoro Park) in Nagakute, Japan. The grand opening on November 1, 2022, will feature attractions including “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse,” an indoor museum-like experience that boasts studio secrets from small artifacts to movie exhibits; “Hill of Youth,” which holds the World Emporium, the antique shop from the popular 90’s film Whisper of the Heart; and “Dondoko Forest,” where “Dondoko-do” sits at the top of a forest hill that’s nestled behind Satsuki and Mei’s House.
