The Paranormal and Phantasmic Photos of All Hallow’s Eve

With models Gabbriette and Page Ruth, the horror-inspired shoot by Doug Inglish and Nicola Formichetti embodies 90s teen angst with inspiration from ‘Vampira’ and ‘Mad Max.’

The aesthetics of Halloween are universally acknowledged as one of the best parts of the holiday. Every year, spooky season culminates at the end of October in a seance of spirits, a grim and ghoulish affair populated by creepy, gory looks. Hallow’s Eve is for sinners and saints; blood, claws and fangs are accessorize demons and dark creatures, and we allow ourselves to indulge in the purely unnatural.

In a shoot styled by Nicola Formichetti and shot by Doug Inglish, the best of the worst critters and crawlers of the season are showcased—broken, bruised and bloodied, and delightfully unnverving.

“With COVID restrictions and guidelines changing the way we celebrate Halloween this year, I wanted to collaborate with photographer Doug Inglish to create our own Halloween party and photograph people that inspire me at the moment,” said Formichetti.

The shoot was inspired by iconic horror movie characters and 90s teen angst, featuring models Page Ruth and Gabbriette.

“Each look was actually inspired by the people in the shoot,” said Formichetti. “For example, Gabbriette from Nasty Cherry really embodied that Vampira underground sexiness within the horror genre, so I wanted to use her energy into the looks. With Page, she had this softness to her look and energy so I wanted to play with glamorizing a Mad Max princess, a mummy and ghost bride.”
