The Ritz Paris Hotel is Taking a Step into the Fashion World

The Ritz Paris Hotel teamed up with FRAME fashion for its first ever clothing line.

The hotel, which has been around for over a century, teamed up with fashion house, FRAME, for this new collection. The line aims to bring luxury to casual clothing, while taking inspiration from the rich history of the Ritz.

FRAME, which was founded in 2012 Los Angeles, creates sustainable handcrafted garments that exist on the edge of comfort and class. They are known for their denim, cotton, and leather clothes.

The combination led to Ritz-themed clothing adorned with the Ritz logo. “When I think of Paris, I think of the Ritz Paris,” says Erik Torstensson, the Creative Director and Co-Founder of FRAME. “FRAME’s collections always offer a distinctly enduring European aesthetic and we wanted to create a collection which brings our customer the elevated experience of the Ritz Paris but an off-duty version.”

This collection takes the concept of fashion brand awareness, and shifts it onto the hotel. Everything except the jeans comes with Ritz name and often their logo as well. There is the occasional mention of FRAME, but in a more subdued placement and font. This collection aims to thrive off the notoriety of the Ritz and its connection to wealth and elegance.

But FRAME isn’t the only one getting anything out of this deal. Though this is the Ritz’s first step into the fashion world, they are excited to have clothes that combine luxury and everyday. “Camilla Fayed, owner of the Ritz Paris along with her family have been a big fan of FRAME for a long time as we have similar values,” says Natalie Bader Messian, one of the board members. “So, it is very natural that we considered this partnership.”

As for the collection itself, it’s full of crew neck hoodies and t-shirts. They all come in a similar set of simple designs in colors like cream and black. Some have designs that say “Late Checkout”, “Concierge” or “Do Not Disturb”. These can be paired with some of FRAME’s classic jeans. For more understated fashion statements there are logo adorned crew socks, gym bags, and water bottles. Or if you are feeling chilly, there are black and white blankets with the Ritz’s address.

The collection combines high quality with casualty wear. For subdued fashion that shows off wealth, this is a great way to go.
