The Strokes Are Done Waiting. Are You?

The New York rock icons just owned the Coachella stage and they are not stopping there, hitting the road this summer with fresh music in tow

The Strokes may have stepped back from the spotlight, but their music never really left. Six years after their last release, the band is returning in a major way. They have confirmed a sweeping global tour on April 13, 2026, with dates spanning North America, the U.K., Europe, and Japan. Running from June through the fall, the announcement comes alongside news of their 7th studio album, “Reality Awaits”, due out June 26 via Cult Records/RCA Records.

The timing could not be better. The Strokes are fresh off a headline set at Coachella’s first weekend and still have appearances at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, and Japan’s Summer Sonic 2026 ahead of them this spring and summer. Since forming in New York City, The Strokes have spent more than two decades defining the sound of a generation. “Reality Awaits” marks The Strokes’ first new music since their critically acclaimed 2020 record, “The New Abnormal”. Recorded in Costa Rica with legendary producer Rick Rubin and finished at various locations around the globe, the album promises to be one of the most anticipated rock releases of the year. The band has already shared the first single, “Going Shopping,” giving fans their first taste of what to expect when the full record drops on June 26.

Tickets go on general sale this Friday, April 17, with presales beginning Wednesday, April 15. Fans in North America looking to access the Artist Presale must register at thestrokes.com by Tuesday, April 14 at 9am ET. Further information and fan registration can be found on the band’s website.
