The Trailer for Ryan Murphy’s Movie Adaption of “The Prom” is Here

Can you say “Star-Studded”?

Ryan Murphy has done it again. No, not a Glee revival (yet). As part of Murphy’s major five-year deal with Netflix, out of which we’ve gotten captivating shows and movies such as The Politician, Ratched, and The Boys in the Band, the trailer for his upcoming Netflix project has just been released.

Based on the Tony award-winning musical, “The Prom,” Ryan Murphy’s movie musical of the same name is a loud and proud Holiday-themed comedy coming December 11th. Set in a small-town high-school, the story follows a student who’s been banned from attending her school’s prom alongside her girlfriend, and several failed actors decide to resurrect their public image by joining in and fighting for her right to go to the prom with her loved one.

With some glitzy wardrobes and break-out-into-song moments, we can look forward to this over-the-top yet heartfelt film uplifting our spirits this Winter, and we can also look forward to some big stars on the small screen.

Starring Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, Andrew Rannells, and James Corden as four down-on-their-luck actors, Kerry Washington as head of the PTA, and Keegan-Michael Key as the high school’s principal, we’re sure this accomplished ensemble will deliver in “The Prom.” And knowing Ryan Murphy’s love for using the same actors on different projects, let’s hope we get to see Meryl on American Horror Story Season 10 some time soon.

Watch all the drama (and the glitter!) unfold in the trailer below.
