The Weeknd Co-Wrote an Episode of American Dad

The artist will also debut a new song in the episode.

The Weeknd, whose latest album After Hours is set to reign the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row, is setting his sights on a new project: the world of adult animated television. Seth MacFarlane’s animated show American Dad, has teamed up with the Toronto-born artist on an upcoming episode. Airing May 4, the episode was co-written by MacFarlane and The Weeknd, and features a new song by the artist. Not only is The Weeknd writing for the episode and debuting a new song on it, but he will also be appearing in the episode as himself.

The Grammy award winning artist took to Twitter to promote his upcoming collaboration and television writing debut. Pictured with American Dad writer Joel Hurwitz, The Weeknd tweeted, Me and this guy wrote an episode of American Dad. Also gonna play myself… kinda. MAY 4th !”
