Wes Anderson’s aesthetic seamlessly transitions from the paper to the big screen. With such an iconic and direct vision, such ideas must be communicated on paper in style and luxury, because the best stories start with the right pen. The American filmmaker and the Montblanc Maison have collaborated to create an exclusive luxury writing instrument.
After creating and directing the celebratory short film, 100 Years of Meisterstück, last year to honor the centennial of the Maison’s iconic writing instrument, the pair are reuniting once more. Inspired by the Maison’s archival “baby” pens of the 1910s and 1920s, Anderson has designed “SCHREIBERLING”—the scribbler. In true Wes Anderson style, the writing instrument fits the fashion of the Anderson universe, as if it had been plucked from one of his whimsical sets, uniting the Montblanc world with his own.

The collaborative release has a vibrant green and yellow lacquer shell, complete with platinum-coated detailing and a crown of coral with the Montblanc’s emblem, referencing the early designs from the Maison.
This month, Anderson is celebrating the premiere of his most recent film, The Phoenician Scheme, a silly story about a family and the highs and lows of their family business. The film stars many familiar faces of the Wes Anderson filmography, Benicio del Toro, Willem Dafoe, Tom Hanks, and Scarlette Johansen, to name a few, and welcomes some new ones, Mia Threapleton and the beloved, Michael Cera.
