In the Hudson Valley, the air runs brisk. The gentle sound of the water stream is constant, and on this particular cool morning, the creek soaks a pristine Thom Browne button-up just as light catches down-fill bombers. The upstate natural landscape serves as the backdrop for the guest’s Fall 2025 staples and the new Thom Browne “High Winter” collection.

A gaggle of Thom Browne-clad kids—including actress and director Rebecca Hall, The Gilded Age‘s DenĂ©e Benton, Louisa Jacobson, and Morgan Spector, and The Summer I Turned Pretty’s Sean Kaufman and Minnie Mills—cozied into the Troutbeck Hotel library, just a two-hour drive from the busy city.

Sported in a heap of the New York City-based label’s technical outerwear and excellent black-tie tailorings, Thom Browne’s Fall and Winter collections seamlessly transition its wearers throughout their day. By late morning, luggage was set down, as were the extra padded winter layers, and fishing poles were picked up, lawn games laid out. Kaufman, with an apple in hand, drenches his pristine suit and ginham shirt while venturing into the autumn terrain.

The Winter 2025 collection revels in technical design. The season’s versatility proves true when showcased alongside Thom Browne’s classic tuxedo dressing. Crafted in Italy, each piece is presented as functional and formal with meticulous tailoring—quite unsurprisingly.

Back at the house, guests quickly shed their layers, swapping into something more fitting for nighttime. Wingtip pumps replace flooded vitello calf leather boots, a sheer black silk organza skirt instead of a tartan one, and brown, grey, and reds are exchanged for black and whites.

Down-filled coats are grabbed once more for the night’s game of backgammon, but in the end, the 4-bar emblem marks every sleeve and unites the Thom Browne family as one. The company is warm, as are the clothes they wear.
