Throwback Thursday: Guess Introduces Certified Vintage Program

Delve into the history of Guess.

Established in 1981 Los Angeles, Guess has become a beloved American brand with its easily identifiable triangle logo and good ol’ denim jeans. Today, in the spirit of retro trends and bringing classics back, Guess has just launched the Guess Certified Vintage Program, reintroducing some of the label’s core styles from the ’80s and ’90s.

With prices ranging from $79 to $168, the Vintage Program consists of 68 styles from jeans to jackets to classic crewnecks and tees, complete with Guess logos.

An effort in sustainability, each piece was made between 1981 and 1999, promoting the idea of circular clothing, reusing and recycling older materials and garments. The collection also appeals to the ever-growing market of vintage lovers and secondhand buyers, and let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a faded ’90s tee and high waisted vintage denim.

The program has placed these older items in an updated context to express the timelessness of each piece, how they can still be incorporated in casual yet chic everyday outfits. Modern accessories can elevate these retro pieces, but the original Guess elements are visually as strong as ever.

In line with their vintage throwback collection, Guess has also opened up the Guess Vintage Seeding Suite at the company’s DTLA headquarters.

A Western-themed, open-air environment for people to tour Guess’s designs, Nicolai Marciano, son of Guess co-founder Paul Marciano, personally takes visitors through the brand’s vintage pieces, in one-on-one appointments, of course.

With Guess’s Certified Vintage Program and latest installation, you’ll be able to buy carefully selected pieces from the brand’s history, sourced from all around the world. There’s a story to every piece, so check out the recycled collection at exclusively at GUESSUSA.com.
