Tiffany & Co. & CFDA Launch Second Cycle of Joint Jewelry Designer Award

This year’s Tiffany x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award introduces a new scholarship fund and internship program
The Tiffany & Co. x Council of Fashion Designers of America Jewelry Designer Award returns this year with a new initiative on the horizon: the launch of a scholarship.
A joint jewelry design program from Tiffany & Co. and the CFDA, the initiative is dedicated to nurturing emerging jewelry design talent. The award supports finalists in producing a three- to five-piece collection while also providing one-on-one mentorship with Tiffany & Co.’s design team and a multi-week educational experience centered on craftsmanship and material exploration. The final presentation will take place at Tiffany & Co.’s iconic Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark, where one recipient will receive a $50,000 grant and a one-year fellowship with the Tiffany design team.

For the 2026-2027 cycle, Jameel Mohammed, the program’s first-ever recipient, will join the selection committee, alongside actress Gabrielle Union, MET curator Andrew Bolton, writer Lynn Yaeger, and more.
“The Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award marks a meaningful expansion of what this program represents — not just for emerging designers, but for students at the very start of their creative journey,” shares Steven Kolb, Chief Executive Officer and President at CFDA, in the statement. “At the CFDA, we believe that creativity is the driving force behind American fashion, and this award is a testament to that shared belief.”

The newly added scholarship further strengthens that vision. For the CFDA, whose Scholarship Fund has supported well over 400 student designers over nearly three decades, the partnership with Tiffany & Co. feels like a natural extension—now expanding into the jewelry world. The scholarship will provide its recipient with a $25,000 award and a summer internship within the Tiffany Design department. Together, the award and scholarship initiatives aim to continue Tiffany & Co.’s legacy of exceptional craftsmanship alongside the CFDA’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Applications for the 2026 cycle open on Monday and close on June 1. Participants will be announced in the fall, with the award recipient expected to be revealed in early 2027.
