Tim Walker Shoots for the Moon with New Book
A fixture in V’s pages, Walker’s stellar imagination now comes in hardback.
Author: SAMUEL ANDERSON
As part of V‘s ongoing 20th anniversary celebration, we’ve been checking up on our most cherished collaborators. When we caught wind of V favorite Tim Walker‘s forthcoming book Shoot to the Moon (Thames & Hudson), it not only shot to the top of our birthday wishlist, but also led us to two more long-running subjects: Adrian Joffe and Rei Kawakubo, who will host the book’s pre-launch celebration this Friday at Dover Street Market London.
“Both Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market are based on creation and imagination,” Joffe tells us of his and Kawakubo’s out-of-the-box business philosophy—one pictured in the very firstV (The news in ’99? CDG’s Tokyo flagship left shelves empty and shoes on the ground!). Now reuniting with Walker, a frequent documentarian of Comme des Garçons, the duo’s retail empire clearly still holds a torch for topsy-turvy creativity.
Attend DSM London’s Shoot For The Moon signing with Tim Walker this Friday, September 5, and peek inside the book, out Oct. 22, below.
