Timothée Chalamet to Star in Wes Anderson's New French Film

The joining of two indomitable creative forces, a convening of ceaseless minds, a marriage of magnificent talents, is in our midsts. Timothée Chalamet, the 22-year-old actor that took the world by storm through his performance in Call Me By Your Name will reportedly star in Wes Anderson's latest film, The French Dispatch. Currently, Chalamet makes appearance on the screen of Beautiful Boy, in which he appears opposite Steve Carrell.

Despite Anderson's anticipated feature having only started filming in the southwest of France last week, speculation has run rampant across the industry. According to Indiewire, the rest of the bill includes a number of impressive names, including Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, and Tilda Swinton among others. Those hiding in the fog of unconfirmed mystery are Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman, building the film up to be even more of a Hollywood blockbuster than it is already foreseen to be.

The French Dispatch will be Anderson's first film set in France, and was originally rumored to be a 1950s musical. With that said and to our disappointment, Chalamet won't be singing on screen, but could potentially be one of the three storylines expected to be featured in the film, which will read as a "love letter to journalists set at an outpost of an American newspaper in 20th century Paris," a production source told Indiewire.

Further on Chalamet's involvement, when the actor was prompted on his involvement with the film at a recent party to honor Beautiful Boy, he responded with laughter and threw his hands up in the air. In other words, he confirmed without verbally confirming. We'll take that as a yes.
