TNT’s “Snowpiercer” Now Has a Trailer for Season Two
New characters and revelations take center stage in this second go-around
The big freeze is back.
TNT’s mainstay dystopian thriller, “Snowpiercer,” returns for a second season. Fans of the graphic novel (and 2013 Bong Joon-ho film) are in for a treat as the network finally released the trailer for season two, which will be out sooner than you think.
Starring Jennifer Connelly as Melanie Cavill and Daveed Diggs (who spoke to VMAN after the release of the first season) as Andre Layton, “Snowpiercer” is set in the year 2021 after the world has frozen over and the remaining humans travel aboard a constantly moving train that is on a globe-spanning track. The series confronts issues of prejudice, social welfare, justice, and survival.
The show’s second season prominently introduces two new characters in Alexandra Cavill and, most importantly, Mr. Wilford, the legendary billionaire believed to have been behind the train. Rowan Blanchard takes on the role of Cavill, lead character Melanie’s long-lost daughter, while Sean Bean assumes the role of Mr. Wilford, adding to the already star-studded cast.
Distributed by TNT stateside and by Netflix everywhere else, the show seems like it’ll be bringing just as much high production value, thought-provoking discussions, and big action sequences in its second installment. The new season is set to premiere on January 25, 2021.
