Tod’s Fall-Winter 2023 Men’s Presentation Amplifies Italian Style
Tod’s embraces the modern European man in everyday life symbolizing the Italian style
The Italian Portrait consists of wardrobe essentials that have versatility for the everyday life of modern Italian style. Maybe minimal but exudes elegance with quintessential pieces and a color palette with warm tones and neutrals for timeless style. Walter Chiapponi, the Creative Director of the brand, seeks to prioritize refinement again along with luxury craftsmanship in both womenswear and menswear.
The presentation was held at Villa Necchi Campiglio with modern architecture and slightly traditional Italian interior design as it aligns with the brand’s current designs.
Chiapponi strongly pushes the use of quality materials and fine workmanship like the Tod’s Pash Jacket which is made with the finest leathers as pash was created in Tod’s labs. The process is done by hand using brushstrokes on the material and waxing the leather using specific techniques to add detail and elevate the leather.
A variety of jackets with different textiles is the consistent theme in the F/W 23 presentation. The shirt jacket–also called blouson–is a style of jacket that is tight at the waist but hangs over the waistband. Not one model is seen without one as each jacket is suited for various occasions and settings depending on fabric like brushed leather, suede, wool, and cashmere. These jackets can also be seen as streetwear while also transcending to an elevated sophisticated look.
