When Tom Ford debuted Black Orchid in 2006, it marked the beginning of a fragrance icon. Nearly two decades later, the house revisits that legacy with Black Orchid Reserve, a fragrance that captures the intensity of two elusive blooms: the original Black Orchid and the midnight-blooming Ghost Orchid.
Master Perfumer Yann Vasnier describes the Reserve as “a celebration of the iconic classic fragrance”. By doubling the dosage of the Black Orchid, the scent takes on richer depth and elegance, which is intensified by the addition of the Ghost Orchid. Together, they create a floral expression that is much more intense and sharpened by ylang ylang, timut pepper, roasted tonka, black truffle, patchouli, and amber undertones.

Since its debut, Black Orchid has become a benchmark in luxury fragrance and a cult phenomenon that inspired variations including Velvet Orchid, Black Orchid Parfum, and Black Orchid Eau de Toilette. In 2020, it was named Fragrance of the Year and later inducted into the Fragrance Hall of Fame.
Now, Black Orchid Reserve elevates the brand’s most recognizable scent into a new chapter of luxury. Fronted by Tilda Swinton, the campaign draws on her unique aura, one that is enigmatic and powerfully elegant. Those qualities resonate with the fragrance’s dark sensuality and magnetic presence. Housed in a translucent black glass flacon with sculpted curves and fluted detailing, the fragrance is now shoppable at tomfordbeauty.com.
