Tom Ford To Be CFDA Chairman

Tom Ford is expected to take over as chairman of the council

Rumour has it, American designer Tom Ford is set to take over as chairman of The Council of Fashion Designers of America. According to multiple reports online, Ford will be replacing Diane von Furstenberg as she plans to step down from her current role that she has held for an impressive 13 years. And during which she has dramatically changed aspects surrounding the council as well as in how the fashion world operates.

We will have to wait until next week to hear whether Ford is appointed once the board members come to a decision. Along with Furstenberg, the designer might be joining a long list of predecessors including Oscar de la Renta, Herbert Kasper, Bill Blass, Mary McFadden and more if he becomes the 11th head of CFDA. With all of that said, neither Ford or the council have spoken out publicly about this news, which means that until next week we will just have to patiently and hope we were right.
