Tory Burch’s New Collection Is an Ode To New York City

The designer combined comfort and elegance for Fall/Winter 2021.

Tory Burch is taking it back to New York City with her new Fall/Winter 2021 collection. Focused on the idea of seasonless outfits, she brought comfort and elegance together through timeless designs that speak to the reality of the modern woman.

The collection emphasizes layering, with soft coats and jackets in classic silhouettes and tailored blazers and vests that take inspiration from traditional men’s shapes. There is also a strong influence from the ’70s seen, for example, on the sharp shirt collars and patterns.

For this collection, Burch was inspired by the attitude of classic New York and its endless possibilities. Neutral and earthy tones are combined with brighter colors, such as the eye-catching purple button dress.

Ruffle details at the collar of shirts and sweaters add another delicate touch to the designs, while cinched waist looks contrast with ample dresses.

The oversized tweed coat and vest fit like a soft embrace, while the black faux patent leather trench coat adds a futuristic finish to a cozy look.

The brand’s iconic Eleanor bag comes updated with contrast stitching and a flat strap along with the signature golden logo hardware. For footwear, the highlights are the snakeskin clog Mary Janes.

The collection was photographed at the legendary Odeon restaurant in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood. “When I moved to the city after college, I lived in an apartment in Tribeca,” Burch wrote on Instagram. “I used to go there all the time with my friends. And I still go there today.”
