Toteme, Welcome to New York

Stockholm label opens first US store in NYC’s Soho neighborhood

A congratulations is in order for Swedish design label Toteme—On July 28, the brand opened the doors to their first United States location, a flagship store on Mercer St in Soho that celebrates the brand’s Stockholm roots and brilliantly modern design aesthetic.

Designed by Swedish architects and the brand’s recurring collaborator Halleroed, the store is a haven for the imaginative minimalist. “The space is bold and vibrant: Toteme set in a SoHo context, created with its artistic legacy in mind,” says Co-Founder Karl Lindman. “It manifests our commitment to the city and local area, while highlighting our Swedish design heritage.”

Included in the store’s fine interior construction is lighting inspired by functionalist designer Gunnar Asplund, along with lavish couches and fabrics credited to Josef Frank of the Stockholm interior design company Svenskt Tenn. Toteme’s new location is visual interpretation of the brand’s precise craftsmanship and clean silhouettes, a new medium to celebrate the elegantly curated Toteme image.

“We are proud and excited to invite our New York woman to explore the Swedish design legacy of Svenskt Tenn at her new local Toteme destination.” Says Elin Kling, Co-Founder.

The Soho flagship is open now, carrying Toteme collections and curated edits of Svenskt Tenn’s signature pewter objects.
