Out Now: “Take Yourself Home” by Troye Sivan
The Australian vocalist’s first solo project in two years.
Troye Sivan has certainly been using his time in quarantine wisely.
Back on March 20, the Aussie vocalist announced on Instagram that he is “going rogue” and plans on putting out new music as soon as he can. As music provides Sivan with emotional stability through trying times, he wants to share that same feeling with smaller artists by utilizing his record label’s money to pay digital artists to collaborate with him.
“Would like to release new music I just decided,” he wrote. “Freelance artists (graphic designers, animation artists) HMU I want to work with you and take the money I would be spending on music videos and give it to you. This is a tough and scary time, and I feel so lucky to have music and art to get me through emotionally and financially, and I want to share that so bad.”
After sending fans into a frenzy, Sivan posted a short snippet of his new song on Twitter the following day, and it’s exactly the lullaby, synthpop vibe we now expect from the Blue Neighborhood singer. Sivan has also given his new single an official release date: April 1.
The day has come — “Take Yourself Home” is out now! This project is his first release since collaboration with Lauv and his first solo track since 2018, welcoming the newly elevated, next-generation of Troye Sivan.
