UGG and JW Anderson Celebrate the Daily Ritual with First Collection

Plus, a London party in an 1880s townhouse
This week, UGG and JW Anderson connected for their first-ever collaboration, a tasteful reimagining of beloved silhouettes from the Southern lifestyle brand infused with the imagination and craftsmanship of Anderson’s design ethos. The collection—composed of colorful riffs on the UGG Classic Boot and Tasman—celebrates the beauty found in simple, quiet, everyday moments, transforming keenly wearable slippers and boots into moments of fanciful design.

“UGG boots are instantly recognizable, and I was interested in seeing something so familiar through the lens of JW ANDERSON,” said Anderson. The launch was accompanied by a campaign, styled by Anderson himself, featuring musician and producer Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange) showcasing the line’s applicability in the everyday life of a creative.
“I think the things we wear every day are often the most personal. There is something very intimate about getting dressed, or reaching for a particular pair of shoes without really thinking about it,” he says. “I am drawn to the idea of celebrating those small moments, because they are such a big part of how we express ourselves. I hope the collection becomes something people want to wear in their own way, and that it finds a place in their everyday lives.”

To celebrate the launch, the two brands hosted a house party in London, inviting friends of the brand to a Bloomsbury Square townhome replete with florals, visually-striking bites, and UGGS galore. Inspired by the campaign concept, “Through the Art of Daily Ritual,” the event space was transformed into the curious world of a maker, with each room populated by curiosities, marrying comfort and unconventional design. “[Jonathan Anderson’s] appreciation for the personal ritual of choosing what we wear inspired a house party in an 1880s townhouse…We wanted guests to experience the comfort, intimacy and everyday beauty behind the collaboration,” Kenza Chaouai, Director, Global PR, Talent and Collaborations at UGG, said.

The evening welcomed model Adwoa Aboah, activist Kai-Isaiah Jamal, fashion critic Nicky Campbell, and more friends of the brands. Campbell spent the evening hard at work, interviewing guests on a sprawling stone staircase, in a crocheted JW Anderson sweater paired splendidly with his orange UGGs. “I loved seeing everyone out and about in London in a really chic place wearing their silly little UGGs and dancing all night along. I am obsessed with the collaboration,” Campbell said the next day.

The UGG Classic Boot and Tasman, reimagined through Anderson’s distinctive design perspective in Chestnut, Khaki, and Orange, are available now on UGG.com, JWANDERSON.com, at select UGG and JW Anderson retail locations globally, and at select pinnacle retailers worldwide, including The Webster, Lane Crawford, and Selfridges.
