The first collaboration launched in 2018 when Chitose Abe redesigned the Classic Mini boot with a ribbed knit upper that could fold down or stand up, blending the look of a slipper with a street shoe. It was released in limited quantities and kept UGG’s comfort while adding sacai’s sense of experimentation. This early partnership set the tone for what would come years later.
First seen on the sacai men’s runway in Paris, the capsule arrives in three silhouettes. The thigh-high boot rises with sculptural authority, cut in supple suede with back buckles that can stay locked or fold open to show its sheepskin core. The loafer exaggerates volume to create quiet drama, its exposed shearling tracing the edges like punctuation. The hiker refines utility into elegance, a shoe that could walk both the trail and the front row.

The materials are pure UGG: suede, shearling, and sheepskin. Abe reworks them through her hybrid method, layering and shaping them with the precision she brings to sacai. Texture becomes her tool for structure, and softness becomes the point of design.
Photographed by Tanya and Zenya Posternak, the campaign takes these forms into rocky terrain, a deliberate collision of worlds. It’s luxury meeting landscape, Japan meeting California. The collection will be available October 24 at UGG, sacai, and select global retailers.
